2019 Syrah

Wismer Parke vineyard grapes. Aged 24 months in French oak barrels with 13.5% alcohol. Only 90 cases made.

Niagara in 2019 has the reputation as one of the cooler vintages. As a result the season was extended by quite a few weeks as we looked to get extra hang time out of the vines. This allowed for more sugar accumulation and greater flavour profile in the berries.

This Syrah delivers a wine full of complexity. Brooding dark in the glass with purple tones and generous extract. White pepper aromas lead followed by wood smoke, black cherry, and gamey notes. On the palate, the savoury, meat and gamey notes are again present along with eucalyptus, cranberry, and tart cherry.
