2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

2018 was characterized by a warm and dry growing season, optimal for our flagship grape, Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted at 17 acres out of 47 total on our estate, it is our focus fruit. This big and bold Cabernet Sauvignon is made 100% from our estate grapes. These grapes were carefully hand harvested and put across the softing table for close inspection prior to crush. This close attention to detail is core to our philosphy as winemakers.

2018 is the vintage in which we began experimenting with longer barrel ageing. We found that extra time in barrel contributed much to the complexity and elegance. 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is deeply concentrated in the glass with an edge starting to show with a little age. Aromas of wild blackberry, a delicate white floral component, cocoa powder, and cedar sap. On the palate, notes of faded leather, stewed ripe plums, and dark chocolate covered cherries lead to a smooth finish.
