2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Notes:
Highly regarded as the finest wine from our Estate vineyard’s best vintage to-date. After carefully handling the grapes throughout our quality focused winemaking process, all of our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon tanks were pressed off into separate lots (young vine free-run, old vine free-run and pressed wine). After completing Malo-Lactic fermentation in barrel and spending 6 months aging, the most astounding barrels were identified by taste as ideal candidates for additional barrel aging. With our favourite new French Oak barrels, our vineyard’s oldest vines and the quality of the 2017 vintage, these barrels later became our first Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Further aged for a total of 24 months, this wine is extra big, especially bold and exceptionally age worthy. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Intense nose of black cherry, black currant, leather and tobacco. Dry, medium plus alcohol, tannin and acidity. The velvety tannins and bright acidity are in perfect harmony with the structural elements that make this wine so powerful. Blackberry, baking spice and dark chocolate brim from the palate. Decant now or drink 2024-2030+.
