What is happening?

Happy long weekend,

We have been so busy with so many new projects this summer. I could not write my newsletters. We finished a very large rooftop solar PV system which made us the first Net Zero Energy winery in Canada, a large geothermal heating&cooling system that brought our Geo capacity to 42 tons, a new drip irrigation system to irrigate our 47 acres vineyard, some new bird deterrent systems like Laser and Bioacustic bird deterrents. On top of this we have had the wettest summer I have seen in my 13 years of farming in Niagara which demanded much more work in the vineyard especially for Certified Organic farmers like us.

Having a cooler summer means we will have a late harvest about 10-14 days later than usuaual which will start our first grapes coming in October. I hope I will have a few weeks to write stories about how we came up with the idea of naming our Bordeaux style blends Arinna and Wiyana Wanda. What do they mean?

Enjoy the last bit of summer and I and my family would like to host you at our vineyard.

Best wishes.
