Event or Not to Event

Hello wine aficionados,

The most common question we get when someone calls or e-mails the winery is if we do any events. I am aware wineries are part of the greater hospitality business. But I and my wife Elif have never wanted to be an event or food-focused winery. We are boutique and our agreement with her in the beginning (hey we are still married after 28 years) is that I will make the wine and she will sell it, and we will not interfere with each other's area.

We would only focus on growing quality grapes, making the best possible wine, and getting to know our guests by name. Our simple marketing plan is to create repeat customers that trust us and continue to buy wine. Entertaining guests was never planned or desired. As you may have noticed we do not sell anything other than wine in our shop also.

But sometimes we have to deviate from the plan. As we regularly participate in International Cool Climate Chardonnay celebrations (www.coolchardonnay.org) which will be happening on July 22-24, 2022 all over Niagara. We were asked by organizers to do a Chardonnay-themed event at the winery. After a long thought, we said OK, we will create an event and it will be a good one.

So our small event will be held between 12:30 pm-2:00 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Icellars. Our Vineyard Manager will walk you briefly in the vineyard talking about our vineyard practices. Then we will take you inside our cellar for a brief production tour. Then we will sit at our tables and will enjoy a freshly made Mushroom Risotto cooked by my wife Elif paired with 2 oz each of our 2017, 2018, and 2019 Chardonnays. I will talk about our winery and winemaking. To end the lunch we will serve Turkish coffee with icewine pairing. 20 spots were reserved and as of today, 10 left. The cost is $67.00+tax or $75.70 tax included per person.

You can get your tickets here

Cheers.
