2018 CHARDONNAY TASTING NOTES:

Estate grown fruit hand-picked and sorted. Gently pressed as whole clusters. Settled then racked into 500L French Oak puncheons. Primary fermentation and Malo-Lactic fermentation completed in barrel under controlled temperatures. Batonnage (lees stirring) conducted in the early months then left to age on lees for 12 months.

Succulent nose of grilled pineapple, yellow apple and vanilla. Dry, medium plus acidity and medium alcohol. Full-bodied up front with glimmering acidity that keeps this wine tasting fresh. Notes of butter roasted almond, lemon and a slate-like minerality on the palate. Overall, a full-bodied expression of Chardonnay uniquely balanced by a pronounced mineral component. A tactful balance of fruit, oak and age derived flavours. Drink 2020-2024.
